The Grave Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. List of Charges The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempted penetrative assault. Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
