Preview the Reimagined Classic Adventure: This Complimentary Demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Arrives Soon.

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait the full month. A highly anticipated trial experience is set to release on Jan. 7, granting a generous look into the game's beginning segments. Critically, all advancement earned within this demo will be able to be imported directly into the main game upon its eventual launch.

Beyond Just a Simple Remake: A Thorough Overhaul

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined constitutes a ground-up reinterpretation of the iconic year 2000 role-playing game, first titled Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a notable step away from recent Dragon Quest remakes, like the recently released HD-2D versions, this remake adopts a charming 3D aesthetic. The world are designed to look like intricate model sets, with protagonists having a delightful toy-like design.

"Taking into account the previous version, the story was remained notoriously lengthy. Consequently, the team came to a conclusion that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] make this experience for contemporary audiences."

Significant Mechanical Enhancements & Updates

Square Enix have implemented a host of changes to refresh the original gameplay loop. These include:

  • Streamlined Overworld Encounters: Taking a cue from contemporary RPGs, low-level foes can now be dispatched directly on the overworld map eliminating the need for entering a full turn-based battle sequence.
  • Adjustable Battle Speed: Gamers have the option to speed up combat animations to rapidly get past easier encounters.
  • Expanded Job System: One brand new job class has been created for this reimagining. Additionally, characters now have the capacity to take on a second vocation, significantly expanding customization depth.

Such alterations seek to tackle a key the 2000 game's frequent points of feedback: its immense scope. The initial adventure was known to require over 100 hours to complete. The new edition has been expressly designed to enhance flow and cut down on any repetition.
