Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities reported the 40-year-old entertainer was approached by three individuals, one of whom shot at him before fleeing on foot.

The reason of the incident has not been established and no one has been arrested are in custody, as per the official statement.

How It Happened

Police revealed that Stock was targeted as he was departing from a premises in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.

He had spent several hours at the site managing the setup of safety equipment, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, as per local media.

"Authorities believe the victim was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement confirmed.

Security camera video showed a man with dreadlocks and wearing what resembled a guard's attire opening fire on Stock before making his escape.

The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but collapsed on the opposite side of the road.

Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.
