The Gruesome Animated Film Ending That Stays With Audiences

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally watched, nothing has remained with me quite like the dread-soaked conclusion of a explicitly bloody and highly provocative 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

In the year 2015, the Spanish writer-director created a grim, somber , frequently brutal world with several minor , desolate glimmers of optimism.

Although Unicorn Wars appears as it came from a desire to push animation even more, the director clarified that it was rather a try to convey a universal, cross-cultural message concerning “the shared root of all wars.”

That idea is communicated through a squad of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously modeled after a popular series of cuddly figures.

Maturing in a society built around aggression and the war machine, many of these creatures are fixated on slaughtering the mythical beasts, thanks to a sacred text that claims the bears they used to be masters of the forest, until the horned beings drove them out.

A few did not entirely accepted the indoctrination, , would rather sample drugs and engage sexually in the forest.

In contrast to their cuddly counterparts, these bright beings have visible genitals , obvious sex drives.

For one particularly cruel, cynical bear, Bluey, the battle with the unicorns transforms into a path toward dominance — and especially to supremacy over his more tender, kinder brother the character Tubby.

Bluey behaves aggressively and an apparent psychopath , and as fear overcomes his squad and claims his comrades sequentially, he seizes more and more influence on his own behalf, via progressively violent, harmful methods.

At the same time, the unicorns are experiencing their own horror, in the form of a spreading, deadly beast in their forest.

“Initially, it feels like a lighthearted film,” the director stated. “However it becomes a more intense and melancholic movie. And by the end, it transforms into a scary feature.”

Unicorn Wars begins similar to among the playful features by a legendary filmmaker, which find a mischievous joy in permitting drawn beings swear, engage in violence, or have intimate relations.

Then it becomes more akin to a more grim film from that creator, with increasingly explicit brutality and a palpable connection to the actual suffering of conflict.

Ultimately, it’s a complete extreme drama massacre.

The fear which makes this an ideal spooky-season movie starts a lot earlier than that description suggests.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the hardcore fans of gore, for fans of extreme cinema who want to watch something they’ve never watched previously, and are able to withstand a plot that pulls no restraint.

See it with the lights off without any distractions, and the finale will dig deep within you and linger.
